Grand Slam Champion – Best Barangay Tanod ( Barangay Aganan ) in Region VI (2006-2008)
The awarding ceremony for the 2008 Search for Outstanding Barangay Tanod was held at the Fountain Area, Robinson’s Place, Iloilo at 1:30 PM last September 7, 2008 (Sunday). The Barangay Tanods of Brgy. Aganan was commended for winning three years in a row, thus making it to the Hall of Fame, the “Best Barangay Tanod – Group Category Award” in Western Visayas given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
1st Place-Barangay Lupong Tagapamayapa (Barangay Cabugao Sur) in the Province of Iloilo (2006)
This award is being conferred to barangays with exemplary performance in judiciously and expeditiously resolving inter-personal and community conflicts referred to them for amicable settlement. The selection of winners is based on the efficiency of operations, effectiveness in securing the objectives of the program, and creativity and resourcefulness of the mediators. In the 2006 search for the Lupong Tagapamayapa which, was conducted last August 2006, Brgy. Cabugao Sur, Pavia, Iloilo was adjudged as both the Provincial and Regional Winner for first to third class municipalities and eventually the National Finalist.
1st Place–Gabay sa Mamamayan Action Center (Barangay Ungka I) in the Province of Iloilo (2006)
This award is being conferred to barangays with exemplary performance in providing the people with direct access to information and referral systems, particularly on basic services, from the national government thru their Gabay sa Mamamayan Action Center.
Most Outstanding Cooperative in the Philippines (Pavia Entrepreneurs Multi-Purpose Cooperative) – LGU – COOP Partnership (2006)
The Pavia Entrepreneurs Multi-Purpose Cooperative was named the best in the country while the municipal government under Mayor Arcadio H. Gorriceta bagged the most outstanding Partner LGU in the Philippines. In ceremonies that was held in Metro Manila, the Pavia Entrepreneurs Multi Purpose Cooperative (PEMPC) was adjudged the Most Outstanding Cooperative in the municipal government category during the 2006 Awards for Excellence in Cooperative -LGU Partnership (CLPA).
